How Much Does It Cost

The price for my services is based on how much time it takes me, so I have set different prices for different needs.  For example, practice-quality playing is easier for me than performance-quality playing, because I can miss a little note, or set my own timing instead of matching yours.  It doesn't take as long, so it is cheaper.

Practice-Quality Accompaniments (not performance-ready)

Free songs: FREE!  If you need a song that I have already recorded from my repertoire, it is FREE! Check out the library pages.

Basic song: $15  A short, easy accompaniment that is generally 3 minutes or less.  Who decides whether a song is basic or not?  I do, of course.  Just ask and I will tell you whether your piece is basic or a custom job.

I can usually record your accompaniment within 1-3 days, unless I'm on vacation. Harder accompaniments are considered a custom recording.

Custom Accompaniment Recordings

I can work with you to create any other accompaniment you need on an hourly
basis.  If you contact me and tell me what you need, I can give you an estimate of how long it will take me.  I charge $30/hour and include all client communication, practice and recording time when estimating my hours.  I do not charge you for any technology time, such as time spent uploading, emailing or converting songs into MP3s.

I also do rush jobs on a custom basis for an additional fee.  Just ask!

Learn Your Notes

For $10 I will send you an MP3 of the melody line, or "your part", of your song played on the piano against a metronome beat.

If you're already purchasing a Basic Song, for an additional $5 I will send you a second MP3 that includes a rough version of the same accompaniment, plus the melody line (your part) played on top.

How I Work

To keep costs low, I make MP3s for my customers, and I communicate via instant message or email.  You can contact me on ICQ, Skype or Yahoo Messenger.

If you need a CD made, I charge an extra fee.

Per your request I can do MIDI and Wave sound files too.

I can transpose the accompaniment in any key.

Free accompaniments are converted into a low-bitrate MP3 format. That way files are small and easy downloadable even with dial-up connection.Contact me if you need high-quality MP3 or Wave versions.

Making a payment

The payment method I use is PayPal. When your order is ready I will send you a sample and if you approve of it, you can proceed to make the payment.

A Word About Price

Think my services are expensive?  Let's say you need to practice a piece with accompaniment for 20 hours.  You can pay a live accompanist anywhere from $35-$100 an hour for a total of $700 and up. Or, you can pay me once and keep the piece on your computer, mp3 player or CD forever, practicing it over and over again whenever you want.  I'll even send you a new copy if yours gets deleted or lost.

You're also helping other musicians every time you purchase a piece. Some of these pieces become free for all of the subsequent musicians that come to my website.  Eventually, I'll have an open-source library of piano accompaniment for every piece in the world.  Think what an incredible resource that will be for future musicians.
